Do they know what’s going on?

Now I find it very interesting that studies show eyes growing and shrinking on a daily basis – this makes me wonder about the diagrams that show the emmetropic (clear-sighted) eye. Are people having their vision fluctuate from clear to more clear or less clear, or do they adjust with their lens to maintain clarity?

Anyhow, any thinker should be satisfied to be unsatisfied with lenses and lasers as methods towards healing. The evidence adds up on both sides. The clinical data that speaks mostly of how vision can get worse, can be used to explain how to get it better, or how to prevent its occurrence. That…

And experience can get validated. What your grandparents know, knew, or did and what you think or have experienced can be validated. You can start to believe that improvement is possible and real and normal and the whole discussion in a certain sense becomes ridiculous, like laundry listing why do something that is obviously good.

Where it gets interesting is figuring out different methods that lead to relaxation or increased visual acuity. What stops people from seeing clear? What will help people see consistently better? How quickly can we get lasting change? How can we get this change spread throughout the world?

These questions apply to most other current physical afflictions. We know obesity is reversible and the myriad of health effects that come along with it.

How are we going to be the change and once we are the change or what if we never were obese, how do we inspire people to become healthier?

By doing something different, overt, and get noticeably better results than those around you – or at least show the viability of your path.

 Anyhow, sticking to eyesight, I can see that the reason I write this is because of the skeptics and liars.
PreventionThere is no way to prevent nearsightedness. Reading and watching television do not cause nearsightedness. In the past, dilating eye drops were proposed as a treatment to slow the development of nearsightedness in children, but they have never been proven effective.The use of glasses or contact lenses does not affect the normal progression of myopia — they simply focus the light so the nearsighted person can see distant objects clearly. Hard contact lenses will sometimes hide the progression of nearsightedness, but vision will still get worse “under” the contact lens.”Can you smell the bull crap?

“Normal progression of myopia”… how can the NIH say that there is a normal progression of myopia when myopia increased from 26% to 42% over 30 years? Myopia nearly doubled… what’s the normal progression?



Court Vision – Life Vision: Jason Kidd | Look Around!

So I am an avid basketball player and have seen players like Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, or Larry Bird make amazing passes where they are not even looking at the recipient of the pass! How do they do that?

By having great court vision. Court vision is… seeing the whole court, knowing where the defense is, where the offense is, and perhaps more importantly… where it’s going to go and how they can move the ball around to get the results they want.

When it comes to eyesight, wearing glasses diminishes your court vision because it improperly trains your eyes to not look at the extremes. The glasses are only covering a limited area and the eyes no longer look to areas where the glasses are not.

Contact lenses decrease oxygen flow and hydration, which explains why people complain about dry or itchy eyes. The added weight slows the eyes down too and the dryness and itchiness makes movement less smooth. Most people don’t like to hurt themselves… if it hurts to do something or is irritating, they’ll do it less. If contacts irritate your eyes when you move them, you’ll move your eyes less, and then thus see less.

No lasik is not a solution… it permanently cuts off an essential part of your eye and by definition prevents healing.

So look around.

Intro to Vision Improvement: Lenses and Lasers

Blurry vision can have differing causes, for the most part, it has to do with the physical length of the eye being different than the optical length. In myopia (nearsightedness) the light falls short of the retina, because the eye is elongated, and in hyperopia (farsightedness) the light falls behind the retina because the eye is shortened. Neither glasses, contacts, nor lasik surgery reverse the elongation or shortening.

Not only do they not reverse the elongation or shortening… but consider the method of fitting lenses. They put lenses in front of you and ask “1 or 2” “2 or 1” and eventually you can get a prescription in .25 diopters given to you. Well, not given, you probably pay around $100-300 for the whole process. Are your eyes exactly requiring a -2.75 diopter correction? What if they only need a -2.70 correction? You will probably be given a -2.75 lens and told “you’ll get used to it.”

And get used to it you shall…

Your eyes will change based on the refraction provided to them…  That means that the eyes will actually lengthen in order to “get used to it”.

A further complication that happens is the fact that eyesight naturally fluctuates through various conditions and that the experience at the eye doctor itself is not conducive to clear eyesight. It is a stressful experience for many; it costs money, doctors are frequently rushing through, the chair is not comfortable, the machine that puffs air into your eye is not fun, it can be awkward in the dark room, and the experience of being tested in itself can be stressful.

Stress and strain have been shown to lead to blur vision. Incidents of great stress and strain can have direct effects on eyesight. Surveys show people frequently report have experienced at the end of some stressful day having more blurry vision than they started with and finding their vision restored by morning.

Research shows that normal eyes “grow” during the day and “shrink” at night. I put grow in quotation marks because I have not yet seen proof that it actually grows in size. I do believe that the eye is lengthening, but not sure there’s evidence that the volume changes. The take away point is clinical confirmation that eyesight fluctuates due to the length of the eye changing. This is vital because the way lenses and lasers manage blurry vision is by fixing a point to where light falls on the retina when the person is being tested, which is dangerous when the retina will move as the eye “grows” or “shrinks” shortens or elongates. This is why people are told not to get lasik surgery before their eyes “stop changing”… however, as the research shows, eyes change often.

The research also shows that, “Occluded eyes are shown to grow both during the day and the night.” (from ) This means that muggy glasses or poor visual environments contribute to worsening vision by way of changing the shape of the eye. People are spending more time indoors looking up close and their eyesight is suffering. I do not think that spending time indoors causes blurry distance vision, but do think that being outdoors more can certainly help improve distance vision. The article shows that people  with myopia spent an average of 3.7 hours less outdoors than people with clearer eyesight.

Lenses also alter the type of light that gets to the eyes. Not getting the natural unobstructed sunlight has also  been shown to be problematic. Not getting light can happen both by spending less time outdoors and by wearing lenses.

Glasses, contacts, and lasik surgery are “management” techniques. They do not constitute healing at all and have been shown to cause problems – by definition they prevent healing.


There’s a difference between conditions or contingencies and causes. When people say a person is obese it wouldn’t be fair to say he is obese because he has so much weight. Well, it would be fair, but that would be defining the word obese, not explaining the cause of obesity. Just like if a person is sitting, the reason why they are sitting would not be because their bottom is on a chair, the reason would be, for example because they wish to be still and type and the computer is at the table by the chair.

So what is the cause of myopia? Well it’s fair to say the vision is blurry because the light does not fall on the retina. And it is fair to specify that the light does not fall because on the retina because the retina is elongated, but it is not satisfying as a cause, in my eyes.

I have personally seen intense sharpness and clarity of vision for an instant and then had my vision return to 20/400 or so. If you tell me the reason why I was myopic is because my eye is too long, that would not give me what I need to improve my eyesight, although that would make it clear that lenses or lasik surgery are not intelligent solutions to my problem because by knowing what myopia is, I can get a sense of what I want. I should want an eye that is not elongated and therefor the light falls on the retina naturally.
